Photos are embeded in our daily life like never before. Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest allied to ever present smart phones have made the art of taking a good picture seem like something anyone can do.
It’s not the taking that matters - it’s the making.
For me there is a world of difference between an engaging image that relies on serendipity and an image that has been created according to a brief. Don’t get me wrong, there is something genuinely appealing about many of these ‘home-made’ images but I’m not going to kid myself into thinking that the camera roll on my phone contains anything worthy of use outside the four walls of my home.
