Keep it Simple

Your website only has a 3 seconds to grab a visitor’s attention. To keep people’s interest as long as possible, offer a clear description of what it is your business does and why people should use your service or buy your products?

Have clear calls to action
Visitors to your website are there for a reason. To help them find what they are looking for each page should have at least one clear call to action, such as “find out more about…”, “enquire…”, “buy now” or “make a booking”.

Keep content fresh

Add new and interesting content as often as possible. The new content doesn’t have to be really long, short blogs are often best. This has the added benefit of having something to post on Social Media too!

Make it easy to read

People scan web pages to see if it is of interest. Use titles, bullet points and highlighting to make it easy for them to see the important information. If they think it is relevant, your visitors will begin to engage with your website.

Mobile Friendly

The majority of local business searches are done on smartphones or tablet PCs. You need to make sure that your website is mobile friendly or you are making it hard for a sizeable proportion of potential customers to use your website.

Get a basic understanding of how search engines work

It doesn’t matter how great your website is if it can’t be found by your potential customers. You should understand the importance of keywords and how you can incorporate them into the content of your web page.
